Blood Zone Report – June 2013

At the end of each event we compile a report about each zone, containing moderator observations and our web data. This report provides a summary and some meaningful information on the zone. The Blood Zone started off slowly but gradually became busier throughout the event. However, with only one scientist taking part in the live chats, not all questions were answered. The one scientist who did take part was very comfortable and in good humour about handling the chats by himself. Download the report here.

Digital Zone evaluation report – March 2013

In March 2013 we ran a Digital Zone, funded by the RCUK Digital Economy Theme. It was successful: It was very busy throughout the fortnight and above average in most measures of activity such as number of students and questions asked. Students asked questions on games, robots and phone apps, relating to the digital theme, along with more general science questions on space and the origins of science. The scientists all engaged well and were keen to answer questions and take part in the live chats. Phil Wilkinson won the zone and plans to spend his money on an internet video series to explain science. Read the full evaluation here. As zone winner Phil said, “I cannot fully articulate how much I enjoyed this experience!”
