Health Zone Report March 2023

The Health Zone ran in March 2023 and was funded by UKRI, the STEM Ambassadors Scheme and EPSRC CDT in Smart Medical Imaging.

The activity featured 41 scientists working in academia and industry.

41 scientists created profiles in the Zone. See who took part ❯

Students

1033 students from 37 schools logged into the Zone.

930 (90%) of these students were actively engaged in the Chats and asked follow up questions.

Live Chats

103 live Chats were booked, and 60 live Chats took place. None of these were evening Chats.

On average, each scientist attended 8 Chats.

What is I’m a Scientist?

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here is an online activity where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.

It’s a competition between scientists, where the students are the judges.

Students challenge the scientists over intense, fast-paced, online live Chats. Then they Ask the scientists all the questions they want to, and Vote for their favourite scientist to win a prize of £500 to communicate their work with the public.
