Summary of Activity: Autumn 2024

Autumn 2024 saw the relaunch of Iโ€™m an Engineer, Get me out of here and Iโ€™m a Mathematician, Get me out of here as well as the launch of the Iโ€™m a Computer Scientist, Get me out of here site. Teachers could book activities for their students across more than 150 themes. Each theme connected students with people working in related fields.

During this term, an estimated 5,814 students from 129 schools participated, engaging with 291 scientists across various STEM fields.

The majority of participating schools were priority schools; based on widening participation data and distance from major research institutions.

The Chats provided students with opportunities to ask questions, discuss real-life applications of curriculum topics. Students were also active in asking Follow-up questions and casting Votes for their favorite scientists. Over the term, 368 follow-up questions were asked, and 2,746 votes were cast.

Feedback from teachers and students indicated high levels of engagement, with students appreciating the informal atmosphere and personalised interactions.
